Windows 7 64bit professional, kernel power error 41

hi guys,
after many months of being fine my computer has decied to do this error all over again. there seems to be no fix for it anywhere on the internet and im really lost as to what to do next. im still getting the exact same error with exactly the same details. Has anyone managed to find the solution to the problem?

I have found the minidump files this is the error i get:

Not sure what you've tried but I turned of all power management options in the BIOS, called different things in different MOBOs but CPU Enhanced halt (C1E) and CPU EIST on my Gigabyte GA-EX58.

This virtually stopped my problems for a while. Came back a few weeks ago, happening 3/4 times in a week. Went through everything again, switching off anything not essential in System Config/Startup (generally update/monitoring stuff from 3rd parties) also cleared out the startup folder and anything not microsoft in Task Scheduler.

Seems to have almost stopped it again, happening very occasionally but am running 2.8GHz processor at 3.6GHz.

I'm pretty sure it's power supply related. The onboard power management can't quite keep the supply clean and steady enough. I'm wondering whether to a) upgrade my Pc power supply and b) try an uniteruptable power supply. Having said that, it has happened quite a few times when watching web based streaming video which I wouldn't have thought to be particularly intensive.

I am having the exact same error and about the same issue, the only thing I know now is that its a direct X issue where its not being initialized. I first thought it was only games, now I know its anything that tries to use DX for anything. windows media center wont even be configured a complete wipe of the harddrive and still this error remains. This makes the probably 101st forum i have been to where im asking for help on this insane issue. Like this gentlemen has said, i have tried everything i know to do, even took it to my buddy who does programming and he just laughed at me and said welcome to the club. He himself couldnt figure it out, he also has the same issue. he just runs everything in safe mode and continues to work on whatever, however thats not practical for my use.

If anyone has suggestions, ill be viewing this thread till it just goes dead like so many others. Also, maybe me and this gentlemen with this issue could sit down if you would be willing, and discuss what all we have done and what we havent done. I have a list in my head of all the looney stuff I have tried and this error has brought my comp to a standstill to what I should do. I am not hjijacking this thread, I am looking for the same result to the same issue. Please dont consider it the wrong way.

Tried everything I could think of and thought I'd resolved the issue but had jus, somehow, reduced it down to one a week rather than 2 or 3 per day. Started to think that this is a hradware issue related to the processor (Intel Core I7 920)

However, having read a suggestion elswhere, have recently replaced my PCi wireless card and , voila, no more crashes - so far !!!

i think i might look into that option, because my computer is driving me nuts right now. because my issue was initially the kernal power error and crash. Now its crashing on anything that uses direct x, which now includes windows media center, games, and aything else. After 2 hours normally of crashing the comp i get one time that everything works right but then after I shut it down, or restart I have the same issue all over again. If you say pci card, ill look into that the next paycheck. Thanks for the suggestion!

Have to say that your problem seems to something else on top of the kernel power error. Unfortunately the Kernel Power error 41 is a very general error and could be a number of things but it does sound like you may have something else going on as well. If it hasn't always done that, I'd be tempted to try a roll back or even a clean install - or maybe a clean out of all your sound and video drivers and try re-installing the video card. Assume you have up to date virus and malware protection. Try running the free version of malwarebytes, that always finds stuff my AVG antivirus misses. Error 41 is definately a pain but it should 'only' be causing random restarts. You say these are DX related - is this whats coming up in the error logs and/or event viewer?

Well, so far so good. I almost daren't say it but since swopping out the Netgear WPN311 wireless PCi card and installing TP-Link 300mbps version, no error 41, perfect.

If you plan to do this, uninstall the old card via device manager first ie right click/properties/uninstall and check the box to uninstall software drivers on the confirmation box.
