Oh no, 2 computers with BSOD !!! My son's desktop just crashed but my laptop comes first. I posted my problem weeks ago with very little response and have ignored the issue. Last night while researching my son's problem, I got another BSOD.
I upgraded my 10 month old laptop to Win 7 32 bit 3 weeks ago along with drivers and bios and since have experienced about 6 BSOD. In addition, I have had the occasional
"Internet Explorer has stopped running".
Attached is the only mini dump that was in the file. Please advice why previous dumps are not being saved.
Thanks for all your future help. | My System Specs |

Thanks for all your future help. Hello Welcome to SF,
First I couldn't read the Dump file there is no Symbols available with Microsoft for this build. Can i know where did you get the copy of Windows ???
Dependeting upon the what i see i can suggest some basic troubleshooting steps. Make sure all the drivers are up to date. Uninstall any third party Antivirus / Firewall installed in your system and see whether that makes any difference. Check whether you have any BIOS updates. Quote: Run the Memory Diagnostic & HD Diagnostic Also i would recommend to run System Integrity Checker Start > Run > CMD >Right Click and Run as administrator > SFC/ SCANNOW This particular device has some problem Code: Base System Device PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_02711028&REV_12\4&32BC2D1C&0&3A48 The drivers for this device are not installed. Also download Malwarebytes and Run a complete scan in your Event Viewer Avira has crashed few times while trying to remove some Malware. Also few crashes on Firefox and Microsoft Office as well Drivers to be Updated Code: rixdptsk.sys Wed Nov 15 07:05:19 2006

Sorry for not responding sooner to your post. I performed the various scans as suggested and everything comes up clean. As far as I was able to confirm, the 4 drivers you noted are the latest versions. I did correct the missing driver.
Regarding uninstalling third party antivirus and firewall software, are you suggesting I run with nothing, use Windows security and firewall or just Sandboxie.
As for the os, I bought Win 7 Home Premium upgrade from Office Depot back when you could pre-order. You mentioned not being able to analyze dump because lack of symbols, is this going to be a issue with future dumps. What could be causing IE to shutdown? Why arn't the old dump logs being saved? Finally, in the weeks to come when I have another BSOD, do I post it here or start another thread?
Thanks for trying. | My System Specs | | Oh no, 2 computers with BSOD !!! problems? All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:59 PM. | |
