Windows unable to find my user desktop/information

    Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone had any idea into a slightly annoying reason that is somewhat perplexing me. Occasionaly when I load my machine windows (after asking me to log in with my password) loads a default desktop almost as if it cannot find my user specific desktop.

This issue only happens occasionally and simply requires rebooting two or three times to fix but it always seems to happen at the most annoying of times, ( of course) I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why this happens or if there is a resolution. I am dule booting Windows 7 Pro with Ubuntu using Grep (just incase that makes a difference)

Any help you guys could offer I would really appreciate it.

Can you check your event log for any "user env" errors in either system or application?

The only thing that I think might be relevant is 3 errors from the Application log entitles User Profile Service

Windows cannot load the locally stored profile. Possible causes of this error include insufficient security rights or a corrupt local profile.

DETAIL - The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

Ok so like the error states it's either a permission issue or a corrupt profile issue. Can you login to the Admin account successfully? If so, please create a "new" user with whatever privileges you wish.
