    BSOD after patch Tuesday. Help!

    Hi,
It's Wednesday morning here. I spent last night in Vista after installing Windows Update packages.
This morning I've been trying to boot in W7 (7057) and I keep getting a BSOD.
On my first attempt everything seemed fine but I got a restart to load security patch message from Kaspersky so I clicked restart now.
Since then I've had BSODs every time (about 8 attempts)
I've tried Safe Mode but can't find what's wrong other than superfetch and security center are not starting (?)
I have EVGA precision running at startup and it seems to get to the point where that would normally request permission and crash.
In other words it gets past the Welcome screen, I see my wallpaper and then BSOD.
Could it be the Windows Updates I installed last night?
It's been working like a dream before that.
Any help would be appreciated, John

*several* users have reported that Kaspersky is going nuts on Win 7 - end result has been (for the most part) to get rid of Kaspersky....

Take a look in the Security forum....

    Thanks JohnG,

I've gotta go to work now so I'll have to check this out later.
I suppose I can boot into safe mode and remove Kaspersky.
It's been working fine for weeks though.

This is going to spoil my day.

    Thanks for the reply, John:)

to remove it, disable kas from the services list while in safe mode, then boot back into normal mode.

    Thanks to you both.
After reading the various threads under the security heading I've uninstalled KAS and replaced it with Avast.
Shame for Kaspersky. I've used their KIS on Vista for a couple of years without problems.
I imagine they thought they'd get ahead of the game by offering a freebie designed specially for W7 and now it's all gone pear shaped for them.

Everything booting as normal now so I'm happy, cheers, John
