plase help with vista standby problem

Hi, when i leave my comp 4 a period if time it seems to go into standby and then when i try to wake it by clicking/moving mouse or keyboard, the fans start and the comp turns on and starts running but then immediantly it turns off again, then it turns on again, then off a number of times. I have to then manually turn it off at the back and on again then the screen lights up and says 'resuming windows'.
    can anyone help?

To turn off sleep, go to Control Panel -> Power Options -> Change When Computer Sleeps (may be different than Windows 7), and set "Put Computer To Sleep" as never. You can also edit or create a new power plan with sleep set to Never.
