BSOD Win 7 AMD Phenom II, Gigabyte MB
My Windows 7 64 Bit crashes randomly. I say randomly, its mostly on start up when the PC is cold. Once its up and running, its fine and can run all day without crashing. I even tried rebooting and rebooting to see if it would crash when warm but it doesn't !
I have been working with Microsoft Tech Support for nearly a week now disabling all thrid party drivers etc. but I suspect this is a HW problem somewhere. Is it possible to be temperature related ? Not suggesting any cooling problems just seems worse when PC is cold.
I am also concernced having read threads in the this forum as many of the BSOD posts relate to AMD Phenom II processors and a few to Gigabyte MBs. I have updated to the latest F6 MB BIOS today and I still have crashes on start up.
The STOP errors vary but most are Page Fault in non paged area and PFN List corrupt errors.
This has been going on for a few weeks now. Ive done start up repairs, rebuilt from the CD's, CHKDSK, Memory tests etc etc and haven't found anything !
The MB, Processor, memory & PSU are new. Both SATA drives have been used in a previous system although the system with the 500GB Western Digital drive did have occasional crashes under XP. Windows 7 was a clean install and the system has been run on the 200GB Maxtor with the WD unplugged and still crashes.
Any suggestions ?
Should have said - updated BIOS today because System also sometimes hangs on boot I think when detecting SATA drives. Have also updaed AMD SATA Driver.
