    Restarts

Hi Everyone, nice to be here.
I wonder if you can help with this problem.
I built the PC about 3 months ago and regularly get random reboots
    every so often.
When Windows reappears it tells me a hardware problem has caused it
but because the reboots are sometimes a couple of weeks apart and it's a working machine (music recording) I cant really leave components out for any length of time.
I've checked each stick of ram individually using the windows memory tester, updated the bios and reseated processor and heatsink just in case.
Ran chkdsk /r and came back clean.
I'm hoping the minidumps attached could point out something obvious to you guys.
    Thanks for any help,
    Mike

    Hello Welcome to SF,

Seems like multiple issues are going on. Lets start with basics. Uninstall any third party Antivirus / Firewall if installed and see whether that makes any difference.
Make sure you have a latest firmware for your BIOS. If your Overclocking please stop. Reset the BIOS to default setting.

Run the Memory Diagnostic & HD Diagnostic

Also i would recommend to run System Integrity Checker
Start > Run > CMD >Right Click and Run as administrator > SFC/ SCANNOW
    CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT (101)
    a) BIOS bug
    b) a driver whose activity is causing the target processor to lock up
    c) a hardware defect (temperature, voltage, dust, RFI, outright borkedness...)

    Update the following Drivers

    Code:
    ha10kx2k.sys Thu Mar 20 13:48:06 2008
    emupia2k.sys Thu Mar 20 13:47:22 2008
    CTEDSPIO.SYS Thu Mar 20 13:49:53 2008
    CTEDSPSY.SYS Thu Mar 20 13:49:58 2008
    ctoss2k.sys Thu Mar 20 13:47:40 2008
    ctsfm2k.sys Thu Mar 20 13:47:29 2008
    ctaud2k.sys Thu Mar 20 13:49:33 2008
    COMMONFX.SYS Thu Mar 20 13:50:02 2008
    ASACPI.sys Mon Mar 28 08:00:36 2005

ASACPI.sys is well known for problem. It belongs to Asus utility. Remove the Asus utilities completly. Download it from here http://support.asus.com/download/dow...us&model=P5Q-E or Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and rename ASACPI.sys to ASACPI.old and reboot the System.

    Hope this helps,
    Captain

Hi Captain, thanks for the help.

    PC is not overclocked
Bios is the latest and set to default
I ran the memtest and got no errors
I ran the SFC check and got no errors
2 out of 3 drives passed the disk diagnostics
Ther 3rd, Raptor, gave a "cable test, write sector error" using WinDlg
despite me changing sata and power cables several times, this drive I have RMA'd.

As this is not the OS drive dunno if this will fix my reboot problems or not.
Did mange to glean any info off the minidump files?

    Thanks for any help

    Mike

Also, go into Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Advanced (Tab) -> Settings

    Uncheck Automatically Restart.

Make sure the option to right to the event log is enabled so you can still tell if something goes wrong.
