Screen goes Grey and locks, during Virus Scans

I recently had to downgrade from my SSD to a 250GB Seagate drive, ect ect. I did not have this problem previously on the SSD. After a few days i went to run a Full Scan with MS Security Essentials and during it WHAM my screen turns solid Grey and i have to hold the power button down to shut it off. works fine after reboot. so i try super anti-spyware. after a few minutes, wham grey. I am wondering if this could be a problem with the hard drive? it was used, or maybe because it was ghost cloned from the SSD to the normal drive? What do you guys suggest i do

You may be on to something about a bad hard drive.

Please download one of these programs and do a test. Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp.

You may also want to try a system files check and a repair install.
