Broken Control Panels

So I recently got an Alienware m11x. I attempted to install more memory into the laptop. It worked ok at first and then I got a couple of blue screens on start up so I swapped out the new memory for the old figuring it was defective. I put the old memory which stopped the crashes.

My problem now is that since those few crashes very few if any of my control panels will work. Explorer crashes from time to time. I have run the sfc /scannow command which said it found errors but could not fix them.

I have been all over the internet looking for a solution and cannot come up with one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would try a Repair Install.

Multiple monitors - Windows or nVidia Control Panels?
I am getting a second 22" monitor. My graphics card is a Gainward 9500 GT - nVidia-based with one DVI, one VGA and one HDMI connections. Do I use the Windows Seven Control Panel - Display or the nVidia Control Panel to configure the monitors? Or some combination of both? Any pros or cons?

Can't access various control panels
Hi, I've just upgraded from vista ultimate, 64 bit, to windows 7 ultimate, 64 bit. I ran into an immediate problem because I'd not uninstalled the norton UAC utility. This manifested as anything requiring a UAC prompt giving me a signing error and not working. I then found the system wouldn't boot...

Two Control Panels
Been using the RC for a while now and the only real bug I've noticed is that there are two control panel icons on my desktop toolbar. I've tried unchecking control panel by right clicking the desktop-->personalize-->change desktop icons but it keeps reappearing. Any ideas?
