Black Rectangles/Black Boxes All Over The Screen

When I turn on my computer, it's all fine until after I login. I get these patches of small black rectangles all over my screen which stay above windows and everything (see attatched photo). I located it down to being an issue with dwm.exe as the boxes go away when I end that task. I just don't know how I should go about repairing this issue. I have Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.

Do you have a backup you can restore from?
do you have a win 7 dvd, to do a repair install?

My money is on that being a card fault.
Do you still get that pattern when running a DirectX game?

You could try disabling one of the gfx stream pipelines with revatuner.
It will remove the pattern, but it will also drop the cards power a bit.
