Usual causes: Defective hardware (particularly memory - but not just RAM), Faulty system service, Antivirus, Device driver, NTFS corruption, BIOS

I would down load memtestx86 and run it for at least 5 passes.

Run a system file check (sfc /scannow)

    What AV are you running?

    Let us know the results.

Update: I ran sfc and it could not "find any integrity violations"
As for running memtest- I am having a hell of a time trying to download and run it without any luck. How do I do this? Please advise. Thanks

Download memtest86 .iso for windows. Burn to CD as a bootable CD. I use Free program ImgBurn.

so I burn the memtest folder to a disc, then shutdown my computer. Then I turn it back on and do what? I apologize for all the questions, but I'm going to need an idiot-proof explanation of how to run it. The most I've done with computers up until this past weekend was surf the web! I have no clue what I'm doing. Thanks!

    Ken,

I replaced my RAM because I was still within the return period. I am still having the same problem. Whenever I restart my computer I get BSOD. And I get the same error code every time BCCode 50. I will attach the lastest dmp file.
Could it be my AV? Like I said, this ONLY happens when I restart the machine. If I shut it down and then turn it on everything works normally.
    Thanks.

    Removed AV and issue persists

    Okay. So far I have:

    -Replaced the Ram
    -Uninstalled Norton AV

Niether has solved the problem. After I uninstalled Norton, I was prompted to restart, when I did I got the BSOD. I have attached the minidmp file. Blast you, BSOD. Blast.

I'm getting frustrated here. What could be the issue? This machine is only 6 days old!

THIS close to buying a Mac,

    Russell.

Did you build the machine or did someone else build it? And if built by someone else, is it under warranty? If so, no need in frustrating yourself, take it back for repair. As versed as I am in computers, I'm not going through a lot of hoopla with a malfunctioning machine; I'm taking it back for repairs, especially if it's 6 days old!

    My opinion.

Also could you be a little more specific about your system specs. Look at mine for example. Would be helpful to know what RAM you have? You might also check to see if the timings and voltage is set correctly per manufacturer's specs. Also what video card do you have.

As far as dump files, that's going to have to be someone more experienced than me as I haven't learned to read them yet. Sorry.

Isn't it strange that BSOD only occurs when I restart?
