    Windows 7 - Vista
       #11

    Hi -

The bugcheck = 0xc4 (0x6,,,) = DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION = referencing user handle as kernel mode. I last saw 0xc4 (0x6,,,) frequently with AVG in late 2009.

NVIDIA was named as the probable cause. However, you have the most recently updated drivers installed -
    Code:
    nvBridge.kmd Sat Apr 03 19:50:52 2010 (4BB7D45C) - NVIDIA
    nvlddmkm.sys Sat Apr 03 20:06:21 2010 (4BB7D7FD) - NVIDIA
Are these NVIDIA beta drivers? I have GeForce 9600M GT and my Windows 7 x64 drivers show timestamp = 3-16-2010, v 8.17.11.9716 - or maybe I am not fully updated! You may want to try roll-back.

Check temps, PSU, RAM, etc... as mentioned by zigzag3143.

Seeing the 105 attempted Windows Updates installation failures from hour 1 of the OS reinstall leads me to believe hardware failure is the problem.

    Regards. . .

    DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (c4)
A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. This is
because the driver was specified in the registry as being suspect (by the
administrator) and the kernel has enabled substantial checking of this driver.
If the driver attempts to corrupt the system, bugchecks 0xC4, 0xC1 and 0xA will
be among the most commonly seen crashes.
    Arguments:
Arg1: 00000000000000f6, Referencing user handle as KernelMode.
Arg2: 0000000000000330, Handle value being referenced.
Arg3: fffffa8002831730, Address of the current process.
Arg4: fffff8800f13942c, Address inside the driver that is performing the incorrect reference.

No they are not beta drivers, thats my problem. No matter what drivers i use i still get the same thing. Thats why i've changed like half of my hardware.

I'm lost. Also the update installation failures are really strange as they didn't happen in the earlier fresh installations. Maybe they are caused by the fact that i apparently haven't activated windows, still haven't bothered to do the phone call activation since it seems incapable of activating on the net.

However activated or not the problems persisted on earlier installs as well.

I just wish i could find definite information on which hardware is malfunctioning, i am aware it still might be my graphics card even though i've rma'd it 2 times.

Also i did get the updates eventually done, everytime i got like 3 updates and required to boot, and after that it normally downloaded the ones it gave the error on.

EDIT: I'll keep running driver verifier to see if i can get a BSOD out of Heroes of Newerth, where the majority of the crashes occurred. Global Agenda actually used to run quite stable compared to it. Obviously before DV.

However i played multiple 1 hour games in HoN and nothing seemed to be out of order, it really seems like its running better with DV *grin* Oh and, Reinstalled graphics drivers once again just out of curiosity what it would do with DV on, apparently nothing :)

(Yes i used driversweeper from guru3d in safemode after uninstall and booted twice after install)

After a clean day of gaming and working on my computer, i shut it down normally to find yet again today the bios artifaction and bluescreens on bootup, when the windows logo forms.

I did not get any dumps to show you. God this is killing me!

This came, along with all the errors from my network devices described in post 1.

Allright, i finally got it to crash in heroes of newerth, so hopefully this crash might provide something more specific than the last ones which actually never got ingame before crashing.

Heres the dump, after this if nothing specific comes up ill just rma every piece of my computer again and repeat until solved...

Oh and why i feel good about this one is the fact that it crashed like it normally has crashed, not like DV crashes it. (Even though DV is still on)

This crash was caused by L1E62x64.sys which is either your atheros ethernet driver or a virus of the same name.

You should run a complete virus check and then uninstall the driver and install a fresh copy.

Post the results here and let us know if you need help

Great, ill do what i can and ill edit this post afterwards. This BSOD seems to show the ACTUAL cause thats been ravaging me for a year, at least hopefully. (I sincerely doubt its a virus because the crashes have been more or less the same ever since they started and i've always had AV and careful about them, not to mention more than a few fresh W7 and XP installations.

Could this be related to my ADSL box, assuming if its not a virus?

Updated: Found multiple sources of this indeed being a cause of BSOD:s in win7 64bit Os:s, however i've only had this specific driver for a few weeks as the motherboard AND chipset changed. Problem however is the same.

What i will do next is, first yet another clean install of W7, and will disable EVERY automatic update. Install HoN and attempt to run it with the earliest possible Graphics Drivers.

    If the problem persists

After that i will install a non-integrated network card in the motherboard, install drivers for it and attempt again

If the problem persists and still points to something related to networking, i will replace my ADSL box and or call my ISP support to see if they have any known cases of a specific connection causing BSOD:s.

Will update later on, feel free to contribute anything that might help the cause.

also, do you feel this would be a good way to approach?

Windows Security events fill your Event Viewer logs. There does appear to be licensing/ activation issue -

Yeah i am aware of that, i'm not exactly how it works but on XP i had to activate by phone every X activations. After i reinstalled 7 for about 3 times it couldn't do that automatically so, but the problem isn't activation itself thats why i haven't bothered because i will do a fresh install real soon again.

    Allright

    Status check:
    - Changed the AGP adapter to the video card. (No specific reason, just to try out)
    - Installed Windows 7 Fresh on the same HDD as before. (have another HDD waiting if problems are not solved)
    - Disabled all updates and WILL NOT update unless needed for the actual testing
    Installed more RAM, to 4gb.
    - Installed a network card.

    Done after installation:

The call came from a (not sure which word), that has an UUID ({3f31c91e-2545-4b7b-9311-9529e8bffef6}) and procedure number of (20).

These are classified as Warnings, do they point out to anything at all? What is this?

    What i will do next:

    - Install whatever necessary drivers are needed to run Heroes of Newerth
    - Attempt to play it extended periods of time

What i have done so far: (this is the part that i will keep editing)
    3.5.2010

Installed Realtek Gigabit network drivers for the card.
Beginning to doubt if anyone actually reads what i'm writing.
Attempted to run HoN with the W7 default drivers (which basically just enable the GPU as a device), and didn't work. Crashed.
Downloaded BETA drivers from Nvidia Site version 197.57, installed them in safemode.
"Stress" testing HoN, running a practice game idle because i'm too tired to play the actual game, 10 minutes so far fine.
Played about 2 hours, some TDR was seen but the game never crashed and it was nothing as severe as normally.

    4.5
Continuing to play, uptime 15ish hour.

And crashed, screen flickered, sound stuttered, blackscreen and the monitor reads no signal detected. Maybe ill just burn this piece of crap on my backyard.

Pretty much everything in EventViewer is related to networking, theres dozens and dozens of errors about it. And the occasional GPU stopped working and has recovered.

So, i installed a different HDD and yet another fresh install, updated everything by the book, tried yet a different set of drivers and attempted to run HoN, BSOD occurred.

Dump included, not that it will tell anything anyway except "its a tdr error" and "yes you are getting screwed by xfx sending you 2 malfunctioning cards" as there isn't even a REMOTE possibility this can be caused by the user. I can also bet my wallet on W7 as well.

This will most likely be my last post on the forums so, please make haste with the dump if possible.

And my rage doesn't mean i didn't appreciate everything you've tried this far.
