    Computer keeps crashing. Firefox issue?

    Hey folks -

My computer keeps acting funny. I've had the following problems, off and on:

    1. Firefox will just crash for no reason
    2. My system will BSOD out of nowhere
    3. My system will reboot itself without BSOD-ing first

All three of these things happen only when I'm using Firefox or when I have used Firefox during a session.

I always shut my computer down completely when I'm not using it. If I boot my computer up and do something on it OTHER than Firefox (like play a game, work on documents, listen to music, or browse with IE), it runs like a charm.

    Firefox version is 3.6.3

Thanks for any help you can offer :)

    Hello & welcome,
I suggest you use another browser {test with IE} to see if it eliminates this problem .

You could also check the red error messages in the Event Log for more information:
    a. Click "Start", input "eventvwr" (without quotation marks) in the Start
    Search bar and press Enter.
    b. Go to Windows Logs - Application - note red errors.

Please report back with the results.

    No "red errors" show up.

I'm using IE for now, until I can figure out what's wrong... but I certainly prefer Firefox and would like to use it again ASAP.

Under Tools in Firefox, do you have Error Console? If so, click on that and review your Errors and Warnings.

    Hi CarlTR6

No "errors" in the Error Console. All the warnings seemed to be referencing HTML code.

Is there something in particular I should be on the lookout for?

I, too, get warnings referring to HTML code. There can be a lot of reasons for that. I don't think that is a big concern as far is your problem is concerned.

Firefox will generally log an error if it is crashing. That is what I was hoping you would find. With no red errors, I do not know what is causing your problem. I will have to think on this and hope that another here will have an idea.
