Blue Screen - Driver Power State Failure

My laptop does not shut down completely when powered off. I got a blue screen indicating that there was a Driver Power State Failure. I've attached the dump files from the last two failures. Can someone help me out here?

Your storage controller (iastor) is causing memory corruption.

You should update its driver and download and run memtestx86, run it for 5 passes to test your memory

Let us know if you need help

I have version 8.9.2.1002 of iastor.inf, which appears to be the most recent version I can find for Toshiba A500-ST5601.

I still went ahead and ran the memtest as suggested but found no errors in the system.

Any further help?

Is that version on the win 7 compatibility list?

I just re-checked the date on the Iastor. It is 7/2009 so not that bad, but these are old and need to be updated.

Okay, good to know. My last query therefore is: where can I get the most recent update to the driver? Is the driver a generic one, or do I have to wait for Toshiba to make a specialized one available?
