    System_Service_Exception

I just upgraded my motherboard, RAM, Video card, and processor so I also went from Windows XP 32 Bit Home to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. Every now and then I either get random restarts after a very brief blue screen or a blue screen where it freezes.

It gives the standard message along the lines of "Windows has been shutdown to avoid damage to your computer" or something to that effect. This time I wrote down the pertinent things it said that were not the standard message:

    System_Service_Exception

    ***STOP: OxOOOOOO3B (OxOOOOOOOOCOOOOOO5, OxFFFFF8OOO2AD98E6,OxFFFFF88OO3D70620,0xOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO)

Note: I think the "Os" I was using were actually zeros. Just trying to make it look as much like it did on my screen.

I have tried to isolate certain programs that might be causing this but it happens when I am playing online games and when I am not playing online video games. Sometimes when I am streaming movies on Netflix, etc. And no dicernable pattern. Sometimes I get super fast blue screens that I cannot read and it restarts the computer before I can see them. But sometimes it just freezes up giving an error message like the one I showed above.

We need the actual DMP file created when the computer crashed. Use these instructions to find and upload. https://www.sevenforums.com/crash-loc...d-problem.html

    Thanks

    Can't find the file.

I just reformatted again, replaced the hard drive, and changed to a different version of windows. This one Windows 7 Home Premium. I am still getting BSODs. I tried looking for the file you are talking about and did a search, the search yielded no results. What do I need to do to find this file?

Navigate to c:/windows/Minidump, zip up the .dmp file and add it as an attachment to your next post...

That's just it, no such file exists. I did a search in windows for C:Windows/Minidump and found nothing.

I looked in other threads trying to figure out how to solve that problem and MEMORY.DMP was the thing I was told to look for. That is also nowhere to be found.

Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Startup and Recovery > Settings

It should look something like this:

Ok, pardon the complete idiot question I ask next, but I got there and found exactly what you were pointing out, now how do I retrieve the file from that to be zipped in the first place?

When I search for C:\Windows\Minidump\Minidump.dmp I find nothing.

If you enabled memory dumps to be made, then it is time to sit tight and wait for a new BSOD.
