Windows 7 restarts after welcome screen

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. The other day my computer started restarting immediately after the welcome screen. I am able to boot in safe mode no problems.

I re-installed windows 7 and my computer worked fine for about an hour. I don't know if I received a new update or something, but the problem came back. Any ideas?

Hello and Welcome to SF !!

That is a possiblilty or it might be some Program in Startup that wass messing up. Most of the time the Driver's update from Windows Update would cause the problem. I would recommend to turn that off so you can avoid such problems in future. Follow this Tutorial Drivers - Turn Off Automatic Driver Installation

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks for your help Captain,

I disabled driver updating from windows update and downloaded the latest graphics driver on my own. After doing so, my computer ran fine for a few weeks, but the problem has returned! It seems that everytime I download and install a new graphics driver (even if it is a re-installation of the current one), my computer responds with a few hours of restart free fun in normal mode. After that, it goes straight back to restarting right after the welcome screen (my desktop will "flash" for a second before restart).

I can run safe mode without issue. Any thoughts??

    Hello,

I'm having the same problme, but I do not recall installing any driver update. Automatic update was turned off when this problem started. My computer can't find the os after the restart either. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks a lot in advance.
