    HP dv6-2153el random BSODS

Dear all, I'm experiencing random crashes and BSODs since I bought my DV6-2153el core i7 laptop. The HW configuration is the following: 4GB ram, GEForce GT230,640 Gb HDD, Windows 7 64bit.
The crashes are random, but it seems to me that they are more frequent when any usb device is plugged (but I'm not really sure!).
Moreover, sometimes, the computer freezes for a while and then it reboots.

These are the steps I've tried to do to find the solution:
    • Installed the latest BIOS version and the latest NVIDIA drivers as well, with no success
    • Tried to inspect the kernel minidumps with the Windows debugging tools but I didn't succeed in finding the real problem
    • The Memtest86 from Ubuntu 10.04 succeeds with no errors, so the RAM modules seem to be OK
    • The test included in the NVIDIA driver works fine for 10 hours
Strangely, when using games like FEAR2, which should stress both the CPU and the GPU, the computer works without problems.
I've installed Ubuntu 10.04 and it works fine, so I'm REALLY beginning to think that Windows 7 sucks!
    Any help is VERY appreciated!
    Thanks all!
    Bye

these were caused by several different drivers. Several were caused by your broadcom wifi driver (bcmwl664.sys). I would install a fresh copy of it.

Several were caused by vmnetadapter.sys your VM lan driver. It too should be re-installed.

Since almost all of the crashes were network related I would update all the network drivers. I would also update the raid drivers as well.

Let us know if you need help
