    Windows 7 - keeps crashing - possible explorer.exe?

    Hi guys

I bought a new laptop about 2 months ago with Windows 7 installed.

All was fine until about a week or so ago when it started crashing on multiple occassions. Sometimes the crash would just affect safari/firefox while on flash based sites, and they would shut down immediately.

Other times it would result in a BSOD with some message about 'memory management'. I performed various virus scans and it all came clear.

So I did a complete factory reinstall a couple of days ago and I am still having serious issues, despite having performed all of the windows/browser/flash updates. While it is not BSOD anymore, the browsers are crashing a couple fo times/day.

Also the screen goes temporarily blank for a split second, and when it returns my internet connection has dropped....after about 2 minutes it will then go blank again for a split second and everything is fine again.

It also changes the appearence of my windows slightly. On the left it is how the top of the pages appear just after the crash, on the right is how it appears normally.

Any advice on how to sort this issue?

In order for us to be of assistance, we need the actual DMP file created when the computer crashed. Use these to find and upload it to us. https://www.sevenforums.com/crash-loc...d-problem.html

    Hello Welcome to SF !!

I guess it's an issue with your Memory. Download MemTest86+ and burn it to a bootable disk and run the Memory Diagnostic atleast 6 passes.

Lot of Old Drivers please update them !!
