    Standby causes BSOD

    When I put the computer to standby, it crashes with a blue screen sometimes. It is a fresh install of Windows 7. All drivers are up to date.

    I am attaching the minidump directory. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Quite a few BSOD's you have. They will take a while so I am running the last five first. Doing them now

    Ken

    edit: last five were caused by which is your network driver. I would re-install both the lan and wifi (if needed).

    The machine crashed with a different error this time:
    On Fri 5/28/2010 4:32:37 PM your computer crashed
    This was likely caused by the following module: s
    Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0xC0000005, 0xFFFFF88003E3E5FA, 0xFFFFF8800D52DA20, 0x0)
    Error: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

    Dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\052810-42369-01.dmp

    What is hiber_iastor?

    Thanks in advance!

    STOP 0x0000003B: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

    Usual causes: System service, Device driver, graphics driver, ?memory

    Code:
    *******************************************************************************
    *                                                                             *
    *                        Bugcheck Analysis                                    *
    *                                                                             *
    *******************************************************************************

    Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

    BugCheck 3B, {c0000005, fffff88003e3e5fa, fffff8800d52da20, 0}

    Probably caused by : afd.sys ( afd!AfdTLReleaseIndications+1a )

    Followup: MachineOwner
    This still looks like a driver issue. afd.sys is a Windows system file and is not likely the cause of the crash.

    I found two older drivers on your system:

    regi.sys Apr 16 2007
    regi driver - InterVideo regi.sys - InterVideo

    SFEP.sys Aug 03 2007
    Sony Firmware Extension Parser driver - Sony Firmware Extension Parser driver for VAIO Series - Sony Corporation

    I recommend visiting the manufacturers' sites and seeing if there are newer drivers. I don't know if either of these are the cause; but they are definitely older drivers.

    Please let us know what you find.
