    never ending start up

I was having some issues with my computer that I bought with Windows 7 installed on it. So I decided to do a system restore and it told me that I needed to run start up repair. That was at about 530am. It is not 930pm and it's STILL running start up repair. What do I do? It's been running for 16 hours and counting.

There is something wrong. Hard boot. What issues were you having before? where are you now?

AIM wouldn't work. It would open and then shut down immediately. That started randomly happening after it had been working all day. Every time I rebooted my computer I had to choose "start windows normally" before it would actually load up. That's been going on for about two days now. All of this nonsense started because my computer randomly decided to make the screen go black one time.
