Crash Problem EventViewer ID: 41

Hi guys!
Ok so I built a new pc in January and ever since, it crashes when I play games such as Team Fortress 2, Portal, and sometimes Counter Strike Source but rarely on counter strike source. So I reformatted yesterday To see if that could fix the problem. Sadly it didn't, so I checked for bad memory and it crashes on both of my 2 gig sticks of ram...
So after it crashed I decided to go to event-viewer to see what it says and I get an error id: 41 kernal power.

Specs:
NVIDIA Geforce 9800 GTX +
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 940 Processor (4CPUs), ~3.0GHz
4096MB Ram

You did say it crashed, right?

Event ID 41 is just an unexpected shutdown, no real info about why.

ok, sorry. Its not really crashing. Within roughly a couple of minutes OF PLAYING it will freeze and loop a short sound. In the next 15 seconds the sound stops and the computer becomes completely unresponsive and has to be physically shut-down

You people are lucky

I have :
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 945 Processor 3.00GHz
RAM: 4.00GB
Window 7
32-bit operating system

and my computer freezes frequently. It doesn't really crash but the whole screen freezes and i have to force shut down to restart my computer. It freezes anytime anywhere: Internet browser, games, folder, softwares, random stuff, e.t.c..........

Sorry to hear Jerry. Please start a new thread and post as much info on the issue as you can.

Freezes can be from a variety of things.

Fill in your system specs in the user control Panel. Get as much info as you can.

Also look at your full system. what you have plugged in to USB's, AV used, type of computer (Laptop/Desktop) Graphics card

Some programs that are 32x will do this (edit: this=cause freezing) on 64x systems so be sure to put in your Windows 7 type: (Home/Pro/Ultimate) and (32x or 64x)
You can also list the programs you have running at startup so we know if one of them is a 32x program and is causing a problem

If you do get a BSOD ever, then you can find the logs and post them as well.

Start a new thread and people will be along to help.
