    BSOD Battlefield Bad Company

Hi there, I recently had a batch of dump files looked at on this forum. It seemed that Daemon Tools may have been causing a BSOD. Anyway, the problem is back but it can't be Daemon Tools as I've removed it.

I've updated, and re-installed the latest drivers for my Radeon 5870 several times so can't see that doing that yet again will help.

Can anyone identify the latest problem from my given dump files please?

    Thanks,

    Mike.

These were caused by memory corruption. To test your memory you need to download memtestx86, burn it to cd, and run it for at least 5 passes.

    Code:
    BugCheck 3B, {c0000005, fffff80003002000, fffff88009fda9c0, 0}
    Probably caused by : Pool_Corruption ( nt!ExDeferredFreePool+174 )

Memtest is run from a cd outside of the OS it is not version specific. Just burn it to cd boot from the cd and run it

ok, I've run Memtest for 3 passes with no errors. I'll run it for a lengthier period of time tonight but usually something would have been found within a few passes as I understand it.

Is there anything else that it might be?

Yes, try removing any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads

    BSOD Battlefield

Grr, same again, different prognosis... DMP file attached.

Could it be the hard disk or perhaps the memory on my GPU?

    Give this a shot:

Dl and install Driver Sweeper: Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

Go to add/remove and uninstall your ATI drivers. Reboot into Safe Mode (tap the F8 key). Run Driver Sweeper and have it remove all traces of the ATI drivers. Reboot normally and install the latest 10.5's.

Don't OC with CCC, let the card run at defaults... lessee what happens?

    **edit**

Because ATI drivers are so problematic, this is the method I use whenever I update my drivers. It has worked very well.

Well I just played for a good hour or so with no problems whatsoever. It's early days, but Driver Sweeper did have a good ATI clear out and I have a good feeling about it.

Thanks guys - I'll keep you posted.
