    Windows 7 booting error please help!


    I'm running a Windows 7 netbook- acer aspire one. 32 bit
    Prossesor- Intel Atom

    BOOTING ERROR-
    I press power and I can here a beeping noise from inside my netbook.
    the ACER logo pops up (normal) with the F2 start up thingy on the bottom left corner of the screen
    THEN!!!- It goes to a black page with white text.

    For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller v2.0.0.9(05/08/09)

    Check cable connection!
    PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM.

    No I press any key...

    That happens over and over again!

    I don't know what I did to it or what happend please help me!

    BTW the beeping noise is their for ahwile then goes away.

    Yes, but my dad is going to be very angry and I also hack/modd video games- I have a friend expecting one tonight.

    I also fix computers and such but i'v never encountered this problem.

    Solution


    I had this error message and looked for clues at this site.
    My solution was different, aren't they all?
    I had removed my CMOS battery and when I replaced it after a while and rebooted the above error came up.
    Clearly the CMOS settings had defaulted and unfortunately they were not suitable for my machine.
    Ultimately I found that the cause of the problem was not just my mindless action but the defaults on the Integrated Peripherals had set the
    IDE/SATA RAID function to ENABLED when the following
    IDE Primary Master RAID parameters were all set to DISABLED.
    I reset it to DISABLED and everything was fine. I have now logged all the settings for future reference.
