Windows 7: PC won't boot after sleep.

I have absolutely the same problem and I understand you my friend completely. When I firstly took my computer to service (still under guarantee) they didn't knew what's the problem. Every component worked individually but not as a whole. At the end they gave me a new computer but just transferred my HDD to the new one. After few months the same thing happened and this time I really tried to explain them thoroughly what happened. It was at them for few days after what they called me and said that they fixed it, it was a well known Win7 problem. Well, they turned off sleep mode completely but left the sleep button to exist. Few days ago my friend pressed sleep and it was all the same. Now, I really don't want to take it to the service once again since I live in different city (don't ask ) but I am trying to fix it myself. I tried almost everything as you did and still no solution. One thing I noticed when they managed to fix the problem is that I had to set my BIOS clock again. So, I think they unplugged the battery on mother board and then plugged it again. I would like to know what have you found out since this is a very rare and hard to solve problem on Win7.

Yeah...sounds like a corrupted BIOS. This has nothing to do with Windows whatsoever, that much is sure.

How this happens I have no idea, but one possible way out would be a BIOS recovery if you have the support CD for your motherboard - but this is vendor-specific and differs from BIOS to BIOS.

Some more details and recovery procedures for different BIOS vendors can be found here: http://bios-mods.com/bios-recovery/

I did the modification on Windows in one energy profile, the other I left alone to see. Really is the option in Windows that makes this problem. I have no more problems with it, without messing with the bios. Could be bios related but I'll leave as it's.

The problem is that is a laptop, it's not that easy to open it. So far I had no more issues with it in neither my 3 machines. Thanks for the replay!
