lol ok i'll try to disable it and see whether it makes a difference. All my protection (NIS, KIS) and now Windows Defender are giving me problems?? I think its in need of a fresh reinstall?

Ran disk check and it says its fine apparently.

Be sure Windows Updates are enabled.

Please enable driver verifier: Using Driver Verifier to identify issues with Drivers

Hi again,

Did updates on all my drivers and uninstalled all AV and IS and installed MSE as recommended. BSOD happening again. Latest dumps attached.

I suspect something to do with my ATi high definition audio driver, but I cannot find a newer version for it. I am currently using 7.11.0.7703.

I only get BSOD when I am watching a show or movie is what I realize. Not really getting any errors from surfing etc.

Could you help me identify any problems from the latest dump? Thanks.

Yep, both of the crash dump happened while using Window media player. If you can't find the newer version for the ATI audio driver, just uninstall it and reinstall the driver.
Enable Driver Verifier as JK suggested

Tuan- sorry, but WMP 12 is the latest version. Also, it cannot be uninstalled easily, being a Windows Component.

Uninstalled the ATi driver and there has been no BSOD since u last posted! Hope this continues on!

Having said this, can i reinstall my NIS 360/KAV? I really dont like comodo and other firewalls as they pale in comparison in user-friendlyness.

I'm just worried if i do install NIS/KAV, i'm gonna suffer BSODs again!

Thanks again for the help.

How long have you not suffered any BSODs? I mean you can reinstall NIS 360/KAV whenever you want. Personally, I prefer to use MIcrosoft security essential for several weeks after I solved my computer's crash for testing, it was created by Microsoft and is known for BSODs free.

It is your choice, I'm happy to hear that you havent had BSODs so far

Question: Did you remove ATI catalyst control center or you remove the driver? Because I know ATI catalyst control cause trouble sometime. Especially new games like Starcraft 2 ..gamer can't hit alt+tab, if they do=>BSODs right away.

Regard,

Tuan

sigh i spoke too soon! After almost a week without BSOD, it came back again twice in quick succession!! And I wasn't doing anything specific. I haven't installed anything new since and nothing has changed on my pc.

Can you help me check what caused the BSOD? I am fearing I would have to go through the trouble of reformatting my pc if this continues

Thanks again.
