| Windows 7: Occasional BSOD, but mainly Crashes and reboots when watching Videos |

Occasional BSOD, but mainly Crashes and reboots when watching Videos I'm not sure if anyone else has posted, but both my step-dad and I are having the same issues with both our computers.
He bought a new computer, and I'm 99.99% sure that none of his hardware or software has any conflicts or any issues.
I have my copmuter, which i've upgraded over a period of time, and its pretty decent. I recently upgraded to Gigabyte's ATi Radeon HD5870 1GBDDR5 video card, and even more recently upgraded to Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit.
His computer is Windows 7 as well, and he recently bought two Gigabyte ATi Radeon HD5870 1GBDDR5 video cards and ran them in Xfire.
Now we both seem to have nice and speedy computers, nothing seems wrong, until we try to go on Youtube to watch a video( when we actually try to play the video, not actually just being on the site itself). Or , in his case, try to watch a Blu Ray disc with his computer ( he's got a blu ray player)
We occasionally got the BSOD, but generally we just blackscreened and it rebooted itself. =S
So I want to know if anyone else is having this issue? I've updated the drivers to the latest to date and all that shizzle, but my guess is that the 5870's have comp. issues with Windows7?

There, The BSOD's dont' happen everytime though. And I figured out that my videos play fine with my VLC player and with some other sites who have their own embedded media players, it seems to be just youtube at the moment. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd./ EP45-DS3P OS Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz (4CPUs), ~2.3GHz Motherboard Gigabyte S-Series EP45-DS3P Memory 4096MB Graphics Card Gigabyte ATi Radeon HD5870 1GB DDR5 Sound Card N/A Monitor(s) Displays Chimei CMV 221D PSU Zalman ZM850-HP (850Watt) Case Coolermaster CM690 |

Can you run system file check to see if everything is ok
Start-->type cmd in search box and run it as administrator--> in cmd command window type in sfc /scannow (space between sfc and /)
Also, atikmpag.sys, which is your ATI Video driver, please install and download fresh copy of it

Ok. I'm doing the scan right now.
We did all this shiz on my Step-dad's computer as well, and it gave the same results, but maybe it'll be diff this time.
I think it's just the Video drivers =S
'Cuz he had the same thing happen. And I've already reinstalled fresh drivers, but I'll do it again after this scan =S
EDIT: Also, Scan completed
EDIT2: Also I'd like to add, that my brother has the exact same copmuter as mine, except he has an MSI, something something X260GT or some crap, with windows 7 and he hasn't got this problem. He has the exact G15, G9 and all the other peripherals as me.
So I'm thinking it must be the card =S and / or drivers. Just an FYI. When replacing your video driver you must remove all traces of the current driver before installing the fresh copy. There is usually an un-install tool avail from the mfr. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavillion dv-7 1005 Tx OS Win 8 Release candidate 8400 CPU 2@2.4 Memory 4 gigs Graphics Card Nvidia 9600M Sound Card HD built-in Monitor(s) Displays 17" Wxga Screen Resolution 1440x900 Cooling none Internet Speed 45Mb down 5Mb up |

Yeah , I unistalled my old one via the ATi installer then i reinstalled it with the new setup. I tried going on Youtube again, and this time, rather than crashing, it just froze up. Nothing moved nothing happened. It just froze on a screen and my G15's Clock stopped moving.
I'm goin' to try it again to see if it freezes again or BSOD's. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd./ EP45-DS3P OS Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz (4CPUs), ~2.3GHz Motherboard Gigabyte S-Series EP45-DS3P Memory 4096MB Graphics Card Gigabyte ATi Radeon HD5870 1GB DDR5 Sound Card N/A Monitor(s) Displays Chimei CMV 221D PSU Zalman ZM850-HP (850Watt) Case Coolermaster CM690 |
