Search Index "Windows explorer has stopped working" error

    Hello,
I problem I have been geting in the past 2 days is that whenever I use the search index, like for example look in my librarys, program files, or look for anything on my computer, a box pops up saying "Windows explorer has stopped working", and whatever im searching for will automaticaly close. This is very frustrating because like everyone who owns a PC I search for files and such, and I have tried many things to try and fix this, including:

    -System restore
    -Uninstalling windows updates
    -Restarting computer
    -Disabeling Index service
    -Disabeling Windows search service

I have read of a solution to this problem that involves deleting files related to the index, but again I cannot do this because every time I look in search index it automaticaly closes.

Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated

Try to do system file check first:
Start-->cmd (run as administrator)-->sfc /scannow (space between sfc and /)

    If it does not work
    Try a scan disk.
    Disk Check

If it doesn't work, you might want to do a Repair Install , it will preserve your data, user account, and system driver
