You can do a search for *.DMP. Usually it is located in c:\windows\minidump, but on some 64 bit systems it may also be located in c:\windows, and be called memory.dmp

follow the instructions that Jan gave you and if you need any help let us know.

    Hi awaisdell

You would have more success if you searched for *.DMP. You may in fact not have a DMP file but they are usually created when the computer bluescreens.

Let us know the results of that search.

In the mean time can you go into event viewer (type eventvwr in search) and go to the windows log, applications tab.

There you want to look for critical errors (they have red in the left hand column) that refer to app hang, app crash, or anything relating to the problem.

When you find them you need to make note of the event ID and source codes and relay them to us. When you find something there often is a click-able link to find a possible solution online.

Let us know if you need further assistance with any of these.

In addition to Jan and Ken advise, I want you to double check if you have set system to create minidump
    Windows 7:
Go to Start and type in "sysdm.cpl" (without the quotes) and press Enter
    Click on the Advanced tab
Click on the Startup and Recovery Settings button
Ensure that "Automatically restart" is unchecked
Under the Write Debugging Information header select "Small memory dump (64 kB)" in the dropdown box
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as "%systemroot%\Minidump" (without the quotes)
Click OK twice to exit the dialogs, then reboot for the changes to take effect.

    Your desktop theme look differents??

    hi....
i did as u said...but still it didnt show me any folder named minidump or any memory.dmp file....but yea i went in event viewer n it showed me a huge list....from which almost 120(a rough estimate) were red....i wanted to ask which one i tell u,or is there any way to make a log file n upload that log file...
i have set from sysdm.cpl and its now set on small memory dump and automatically restart is unchecked...

i hope now it will make that minidump folder...
i m still in a dilemma that everything is working fine then y it gives me BSOD....
