    Regular BSOD

    I've been browsing this website for some time and getting excellent solutions to problems. So when I started getting recurring BSOD, I knew this was the place to come to get the solution.

    These have just started occurring regularly in the last week, and every day for the last three days. Usually the crash happens when I'm away from the computer, but yesterday morning I was present to see that it was a "driver power state failure" (at least yesterday's was).

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Different .dmp files uploaded in post 3.

    Aweberman Hi and welcome

    We would be happy to help, but these DMP files a re corrupt and contain no useful information.

    They all say copy. Where are the originals, and how did you copy and compress these.

    Please use these instructions to find and upload the actial DMP files to us.

    They are simply copies of the originals ... or so I thought. I tried to zip the files from the minidumps folder, after having missed the instruction to copy them to another folder first. I received an error that said: "File not found or no read permission." So I copied them in-place and zipped them in the minidumps folder.

    So now I've copied them to my desktop and zipped them there. Sorry for any confusion.

    Even as I was browsing this thread again, the computer crashed again. Here's today's .dmp (in addition to the ones in the thread above).

    Your .dmp file shows sbp2port.sys ( 1394 fierwire support driver ) as the cause of your crash... Go to HP's support page and make sure that you have the latest version available...

    Code:
    ...........
    *******************************************************************************
    *                                                                             *
    *                        Bugcheck Analysis                                    *
    *                                                                             *
    *******************************************************************************

    Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

    Probably caused by : sbp2port.sys
