Corrupt Registry prevents Windows 7 boot

I've got a windows 7 box that will not boot because of a missing or corrupt System Registry. I ran through the startup repair about 10 times. It tried to fix me up, but eventually reached the point where it said it couldn't repair the issue. When I view the results of the scan, everything is successful with the exception of the registry which it states is corrupted. It attempted to roll back the registry and failed.

I apparently have no backups or system restore points.

I can run regedit from the comand prompt within the repair, so I suppose I could try importing another registry, I have another PC running the same version of Windows 7, but I'm not sure if that will do me any good or not.

Is there a command line utility that can repair or rebuild my registry? Should I try to import another registry? I'm willing to try anything to avoid a fresh re-install.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Can you boot in safe mode to get to system restore. System restore would restore the registry, too.

If not can you get to system image with safe mode?

Unfortunately, none of the safe mode options work. I get to the menu following the boot crash, but all of the load options give me the same result. Crash due tro corrupted registry.

I think the only option left now is Clean Install Windows 7 of your OS my friend. I don't know if there are any other solutions. System repair as Richard suggested is only way I know to restore your registry.

System repair didn't work. Isn't there any way to repair the registry?

Any ideas at all (no matter how crazy) that I can try? It's not like it's going to make it worse.

If you want to try all crazy stuff, I think googling can give you a lot of results regarding "Registry repair". Window 7 is new and personally, I don't use third party software to clean my registry or repair,

I was hoping for something more along the lines of a hidden Microsoft utility not meant for general consumption because it might make things worse, but worth trying as a last ditch effort.

I used to enjoy rebuilding my PCs, but I just don't have that kind of time on my hands anymore . I guess I should have bought a Mac .

Not the outcome I wanted, but I do appreciate your help all the same. Thanks!

Every computer has a way to restore factory specs, you either got a dvd or there is a recovery partion. Lets hope you have the partition.

This is an old list. If you computer brand is listed, but the key does not work, look up the correct procedure
