The User Profile Service service failed the logon

I usually know my way around a computer, but this has me stumped.

My Windows 7 PC has an admin and a standard user, one for me and one for the kid. Somehow my account, when attempting to log into it, feeds me "The User Profile Service service failed the logon, User Profile cannot be loaded".

The issue is that the only other account is a standard user, and in order to have access even in the command prompt, you must run as admin, and when I do, I am prompted by UAC for the admins credentials. I enter them correctly, and then nothing, even when in Safe Mode.

    What do?

    Thank you in advance.

Thank you, but I tried this. I can't get an elevated command prompt to enable the Built-In Admin Account.
