Ok, will do this as soon as i get home
Run the exe? It could possibly be in a zip file, so you may have to unzip it.
lol, i was trying to run the file called "install" and it opened it in wordpad and was thinking surely that cant have done anything, there was an exe in there i didnt notice, now i guess i wait and hope?
That would not have done anything. Double check to see if there is an exe in there - re download it if you have to.
3 days of no blue screens, will give it another few days then declare this problem solved, thats heaps reventon for you help
Hi,
BUGCHECK SUMMARYThat is Windows disk-controller driver and it was also present in one of your dump files that I ran last time.Code:Built by: 7600.16539.amd64fre.win7_gdr.100226-1909 Debug session time: Tue Jul 13 18:21:23.548 2010 (GMT+12) System Uptime: 0 days 0:31:00.797 BugCheck 50, {fffffaa015947200, 0, fffff88001320173, 5} Probably caused by : Ntfs.sys ( Ntfs!NtfsFcbTableCompare+3 ) BUGCHECK_STR: 0x50 PROCESS_NAME: System ииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииииии
So possibly a Hard Drive fault.
Run sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r /f from an elevated (run-as-admin) command prompt.
And run this hard drive diagnostic tool: SeaTools | Seagate
I also see you have AVG installed. This does cause BSODs sometimes and you may want to uninstall it for testing purposes.
AVG Removal Instructions
You also had SPTD.sys loaded at the time of the crash.Download the AVG Removal Tool (ART) from here (make sure you get the appropriate version) -> save to desktop.
Boot into SAFEMODE - NO Networking. Then go to desktop, RIGHT-click on the ART icon and select Run as Administrator.
When complete - re-boot.
Install MS Security Essentials --> http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/
Then reset the Windows Firewall to its default settings -
START -> type cmd.exe -> right-click -> run as administrator -> type netsh advfirewall reset press enter
This is notorious for causing BSODs; remove Daemon Tools, then use this SPTD installer to remove it (pick the uninstall option when you run it): DuplexSecure - DownloadsCode:sptd.sys Mon Oct 12 09:55:14 2009
Try all that, and see how it goes.
Regards,
Reventon
I am interested in this BSOD. Would you mind posting back about 2 weeks after the BSODs stop, just to let us know that it is solved officially?
