no, i am not getting any bluescreens, the comp just freeze and stop working.
Only a full manual restart brings it back to life.

There is nothing special in the event viewer.
I am using Avira premium Antivirus solution

Whenever IE crashes, it should log something in the event viewer.

You can try another AV scanner Malwarebytes. It is not an active scanner so it wont interfere with Avira. Is Avira a free AV or paid?

Here is link to malwarebytes: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware: Malwarebytes

added some info as seen in: SF Diagnostic Tool - Using for Troubleshooting

    to my first post.

Avira is a paid one, premium version.
i can try to let the comp run without the scanner for a while.

    ok, here is the fix...
I had IE8 64 Bit Version running as main Internet Browser.
After i changed it to IE8 32 Bit -> Services.msc can be accessed without any problems.
The damn 64 bit edition of the Internet Explorer was the buggy thing which let crash my machine...

    Everything is running fine now.
