    AcerPower 1000 Tech Problems:

Okay, so my gf has an AcerPower 1000 she got last christmas from her dad. In the past week, the system has been crashing. Here's the complicated part.

No BSOD, no overheating, just a simple hard shut-off. I can run the system in safe mode no problem, but after logging in the normal way, it shuts down.
I thought it was a windows problem, so I tried popping in a linux live CD.
PCLinux, Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, they all crash after they reach the logon screen.
At this point, I can't tell if it's a hardware or software problem. I've googled everywhere but no luck.

    Please help guys.

I did that through msconfig, but when we started up, we tried turning on all the services again. It ran fine, but it crashed after a few minutes of starting the services.

Do it the way I showed. It will show you how to figure out which service is the cause. Read the Clean boot carefully.

Well, the problem's gotten worse now, so I think it's the CPU.
It won't even go to the logon screen in normal mode. It'll shut off during the W7 spash screen.
Sometimes it won't even turn on.

It is hardware. As your computer is a laptop this is a bit of a pain.

Then it should still be under a 12 month warranty. Return it ASAP
