    Freezing problem

I have a toshiba satellite L505D laptop, with windows 7 32 bit, 3 gb of ram,and a 1.99 ghz processor. My problem is I'll start the computer, it will load the opening screen, ill type in my password, and things will start loading up. After a few seconds, it will freeze completely. I've done a memory problem search, and even done a system restore but it didn't fix the problem. Safe mode works fine, it's what i'm on now. Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Thank You,
    Brian

Since it works fine in safemode I suspect it is a driver. Go into device manager (type device manager in search) and go to the display tab. Is you graphics card listed? Does it have a yellow triangle on it? Are there any "unknown" devices listed?

Could have a look at this MS HotFix?:

If your Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 stops responding at the “Please wait” screen before you are requested to press Ctrl+ALT+DEL, the this hotfix may be able to help you!

I'm not sure if this is the graphics card driver, but one that says "High Definition Audio Driver" has the yellow triangle, along with another one listed under Other Devices that says "Unknown Device". It gives me options for updating, disabling, uninstalling, or scanning for hardware changes.
