BSOD : crashes after a few mins

I also have same issue with FZ31S. I had tried reloading the OS many times. I have tried both 32 bit and 64 bit versions and tried to download all possible drivers from sony's website. Believe its a hardware issue or CPU Fan issue. My battery also drained after I loaded windows 7

My PC crashes at any point. Sometimes in 5 mins, sometimes after an hour. The error code is 7A.
    thx

So you are getting a Blue Screen? If so follow these instructions: BSOD Kernel Dump & System File Collection - jcgriff2.com

Attach the .zip file to your next post here.

    Hi,

For some reason the collection application did not pick up any minidumps. Can you check C:\Windows\Minidump and upload anything you find there.

If there is nothing there and you have definitely got bluescreens then can you check the settings mentioned in this post to see if your system is set up correctly to collect dump files when it Blue Screens.

    Hi,

From the info that I do have I was able to see that your BSOD have one of 2 stop codes:

    0xf4 or 0x7a

I did some researching and Microsoft have a hot-fix for people who recieve either of those BSODs when they resume their computer from sleep with a large SATA hard drive. The hotfix might not solve your issue, but it is worth investigating.

That just about sums it up. The other 20+ BSODs mentioned Hard Drive errors aswell.

Download and run this Hard Drive diagnostic to confirm if you have a Hardware fault.

    blue screen hardware_disk

    Hi,
As suggested, I have downloaded Seatools. It has detected Toshiba harddrives. Though there is only one drive, it has detected as two drives with same serials. Is it due to two partitions?
I ran short DST and it passes. Tried Long DST many times. I couldn't complete it yet. The system crashes even before it finishes. One day with minimum programs open, it ran about 3 hours and a half and reached almost 80% and the box crashed. I think I will have to get a new drive and check. Any other suggestion?
