COmpaq F700 notebook crash >_<

Okay like the title says ive got an F700 notebook, originally had vista on it but i upgraded to windows 7 when it came out, had a huge headache doing that but that was about a year ago and its been running fine since then, out of nowhere my laptop overheated and crashed, since then its been running slow as hell and freezing for no reason, i try to open control panel and it takes like 5 mins for the progress bar to fill but it comes up blank, my friend had me install and run malware bytes, and ccleaner, it found a start menu virus that i deleted and quarantined, im trying to figure out whats happening here, im planning on opening it up and cleaning it out because I know what dust does to the heat sinks, and i cant put a new fan because the fan and heatsink are all one piece apparently, and im weary about taking this thing apart

System Info:
Processor - AMD turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-58 1.90 Ghz
Ram - 2.00 GB
System Type - 32 bit OS

also today i had an error message pop saying my processor might be bugging out...so yeah

any solutions??

I've gotten the bsod once, I just passed it up and haven't seen it in a week or so the only other error rpt I got was a black screen that ran thru my disks I can't remember what it was for though, it was after a crash and I was gonna start in safe mode but it jumped right to the black screen on startup

STOP 0x124 errors are a real pain to diagnose. They are reported to Windows by the CPU - so the information in the memory dump isn't very helpful. In most cases, they're either problems with hardware or compatibility.

Here's a link on how to start troubleshooting them: Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

Any ideas on why its locking up? I tried oepning a sticky note and it froze for a good 6 mins, same with the internet.... its rather annoying would this be the processor and if so HOW do I fix that? I've never had a processor crap out

Ok I've been tinkering with it a bit more, I tried opening control panel and it wouldn't load.. at all, I ransystem health report and it camr up clean, no red flags, I also tried opening the internet and it froze up on me, so I opened task manager up and go to processes, I see two processes iexplorer.exe running, but I only have one process running, so I tried to terminate the process and got a window pop up with a red x that said operation could not be completed, access is denied...and all my windows processes are locking up without a reason, there's no stress on the system its dang near idle, I can't find a virus but I'm not sure if that's what it is or if my processor really is going nuts

I need an answer asap, and if it is infact the processor would I be able to pick one up on newegg and pop it in? Or are there restrictions to what I can put in?
