It's nice to have geek friends

I think to have toasted the motherboard on my home machine.
But a friend of mine at work with an AmD system is going to test my chip & memory to make sure these components are good to go before I fill the shopping cart on newegg yet again. Ironic timing - I have a northbridge replacement sink comming in from frozenPC that I bought for the now toasted board. Might as well use it on the new board but that would void any warrenties.
Nuttin like a good reason to update your system specs for this forum I say.

I remember frying a motherboard years ago (the power connector was only supposed to fit one way, but actually could be made to fit the other way too). It made a sound exactly like a little sigh. It's funny now...
