    Best Custom Laptop?

    Hey everyone,
I had bought a wicked nice laptop from iBUYPOWER. I actually haven't updated my system specs back to my desktop yet. I did however return it after continous BSOD after only a week! I would have come here for help, but figured that if it was only 1 week old and giving me this big of a problem, it wasnt worth the struggle.

So now i am on the hunt again. Im looking to be able to customize the laptop to fit my needs. I am looking into a newer one on cyberpowerpc.com but at the moment i am a little skeptical of custom sites this this.

Does anyone have any good suggestions? Im looking for anything under $2500.

    Thanks everyone,
    Ben

I recommend looking at business oriented laptops. Some have just as many customizable options and they don't come with the bloat-ware that often cause BSODs. I don't think any of the Dell Business computers have a 64-bit option, but sometimes if you call they will pull a few strings for you or they might have started offering it on some computers. Toshiba is also a good brand that I believe offers business computers.

Also, if you have a 64-bit retail install disc, you can use that to install 64-bit Windows and use the OEM key that comes with the computer.

How about Alienware (a division of Dell for high end PCs). And then there are companies like this one. But you have to be careful - if you stuff too much into a laptop, you will be constantly fighting the heat.

Alienware will probably be the way to go, a bunch of my friends have them and have never had any problems with their performance.

Although, from Toshiba's website I was able to build this machine for $1445.00

    Specifications customized
    • Intel® Core™ i5-520M Processor 2.40 GHz (2.93 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology), 3MB L3 Cache, 1066MHz DDR3
    • Genuine Windows® 7 Ultimate 64-bit
    • 6GB DDR3 1066MHz SDRAM (4096MB+2048MB)
    • 500GB HDD (7200rpm, Serial-ATA)
    • No Secondary Hard Drive Installed
    • NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 330M with 1GB GDDR3 discrete graphics
    • Blu-ray Disc™ ROM with SuperMulti DVD±R/RW Double Layer drive
    • Fusion Finish™ in Quantum Black
    • Glossy Black Keyboard
    • Bluetooth® Version 2.1 +EDR
    • High Capacity Lithium Ion Battery (12-cell, 98Wh)

    • Microsoft® Office Home and Student 2007 Edition 60-day trial
