I bought everything listed in my system specs for exactly $1,070. This includes the PC, Monitor, and the Mouse. How did I do on this buy? It is the first time I am buying a PC with my own money. On previous occasions, my parents purchased my PC for me since I am still 16 :].
Also, I'm not that experienced with PC's, but I know how RAM, GPU's, and CPU's work. Do you guys I should custom build my next PC?
This thing is a beast to me! Thats because I upgraded from a laptop which has a Mobility Radeon HD 3650. I love it so far. I can run MW2 on maxed settings, with the highest AA and AF, and it only uses up 50% of the CPU. Only problem I have with it is that it sometimes gets loud when I severely multitask with many power-hungry applications. I need to install an extra fan :P
Also, since you are great with PC's (You have solved several of my problems in other threads) I have 2 questions:
1. Can you connect a SATA-II device to a SATA-I external enclosure?
2. How hard is it to install an extra case fan? Does it require a lot of technical skill?
It's very easy to fit extra case fans. You need to make sure you have a spare case fan header socket. You very probably will.
The case fan headers are on your motherboard so look in the manual.
Also you may find extra case fan sockets in the loom of wires coming from your power supply. They are small, flat and square about the size of a fingernail. You can easily identify one by following the wire back from an installed fan.
Make sure you get a good fan as you can pay the same for a good one as a noisy one that doesn't shift much air. I recommend Sharkoon Silent Eagle.
