This is what your manual says: From this PDF: http://member.america.htc.com/downlo...English_UM.pdf

    5.3 Setting Up ActiveSync® on Windows XP®
The Getting Started disc that comes with your device contains Microsoft ActiveSync
4.5 or later. Follow the steps in this section to install and set up ActiveSync on
Windows XP or other compatible Windows systems.
    Note
For a list of compatible Windows systems, go to
Download Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 | Synchronizing | Windows Mobile.

    Install ActiveSync
    1.
Place the Getting Started disc to the disc drive of your computer.

    2.
    Click Setup and Installation.

    3.
Select the ActiveSync check box, then click Install.

    4.
Read the license terms, then click Accept.

    5.
When installation is completed, click Done.

    6.
On the Getting Started with Windows Mobile screen, click Close.

    Set up synchronization in ActiveSync
    1.
Connect your device to your computer. The Synchronization Setup Wizard
automatically starts and guides you to create a synchronization partnership.
    Click
    Next to proceed.

    2.
To synchronize your device with your computer, clear the Synchronize
directly with a server running Microsoft Exchange
    check box, then click

    Next
    .

    3.
Select the information types that you want to synchronize, then click Next.

    4.
Select or clear the Allow wireless data connections check box according to
    your preference.

    5. Click Finish.

Although it says XP, you should be able to do the same with Win7

I don't think this will control the phone though, only allow it to sync with your compture.

here is the latest activeSync version if you don't have it: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...-download.mspx

TY I have active sync. It lets me modify the files , music, folders, but what i am trying to do is see the Mobile phones screen on my desktop......if its possible

    No warranty

What can I do with it...if i cant get it to work.

It still works but the LCD doesnt, I can hear the volume go down, the beeps and watnot. WHat can i do with it? besides sit on it or stare at it hoping it will go back to how it once was...

I thought maybe the rom is the prob or something in the phone that can be fixed with a hard reset, but it wont reset....I tried installing android, but could unlock it...

    IDK wat it is....very frustrating.
Before it completely stopped working it would go dark black screen but a simple push of the reset button would do it now it wont come out of that screen...

    It charges and everything though...

If you can't do anything else with it and you think the screen is bad, you can get a replacement screen and DIY:

Replacement LCD screen can be purchased here: LCD Screen Display Replacement for HTC Touch Pro - DinoDirect.com and elsewhere. see what part you need exactly. There are also phone repair tools in the video you will need.
