As one who is celebrating a year of being cancer free my prayers go out to your wife Carl. Hopefully everything will work out for the best.
God's speed.

To all who have graciously taken your time to respond to this thread, there are no words to express our gratitude for the care, concern and support. You can never know what it means to us - unless you you have stood where we are standing; and some of yo have. Thank you, thank you. I apologize that I do not have the time right now to thank each of you individually.
Mae Lyne had her appointment with the thoracic surgeon this morning. He was amazed that this thing had been caught so soon and he is going to take it out. He will remove the upper lobe of her right lung going in through the ribs. He told her this is the most painful surgery he knows of. As of now, there is no need for follow up treatment, in other words, no chemo or radiation.
Surgery is scheduled for Thursday, Sep 9th with all kinds of appointments for testing, pre-op, etc between now and then.
We are going to escape for the Labor Day weekend and have some time together. Please continue to keep Mae Lyne in your thoughts and prayers.
Enjoy the weekend and may all go well.
I will pray for Carl's Wife even though i don't know but as soon as he got back i would like to talk with him and share idea's and hope to work with him in this forum.
Very sorry to hear of your sad news Carl, It,s caught early enough so medication can begin immediatly good luck and my best wishes go to your wife ,You both will be in my prayers tonight
First you know how I feel Carl.
To be pragmatic, however. No follow up treatment, this news is better than you realize. The upper most thing in Drs. minds is Malpractice. They suggest tests till they come out of the gazoo. To suggest that no more tests are needed, knowing that a mistake at this juncture might end their carrers, moves the situation way beyond hopeful. I am so relived and happy for your Carl.
Just seen this thread and there's not a lot I can add that hasn't been already said so I'll just say that I'm sending my best wishes your way Carl for you to pass on to Mae Lyne.
I know you will both come through this with the same strength that you've shown here.:)
