I wish your wife the best for the surgery. My thoughts and prayers.

I would like to mention that you should make sure that if she is taking vitamins (which a lot of people do and they do help), to make sure to stop taking them a couple days before the surgery. Certain vitamins can cause complications. When I had to go in for a couple surgery's, I was told to stop taking any/all supplements 3 days before.

Both of you take care and know I've lit several candles for you both at church.

Thank you, Borg. You are correct about vitamins, supplements and you can add blood thinners. She has a lest of things - including some of her regular medications - to stop taking three days prior to D-Day.

My bad ! I missed this thread !!

My best wishes is always with you and your family, Carl ! I know that an old soldier has the ability and capacity to meet any adverse situation successfully , they have much more endurance than us . So I am not that worried , Carl ! I know that you will defeat that adversity , with a smiling face .

Still, as always, I am with you .
Arc don't feel bad I too had totally missed it as well.. Carl sent a link for me to follow.. He was so busy when things flew apart.. he only had time to take care of Mae Lyne's needs.. which he did with flying colors.. fast thinking and helping her.. till the medics arrived..
You're right Carl / Mae Lyne will defeat this problem!!!!.. He knows where his help comes from.. along with all the friends .. who are praying for them both,

Again, I thank you all for the wonderful, caring support. It means more than you will ever know - unless you walk in the moccasins and I hope you don't. :)

    Update:

Mae Lyne had her pre-op appointment with the thoracic surgeon this morning and he rescheduled her for surgery for tomorrow morning at 08:30 (8:30 AM) instead of Thursday morning at Florida Hospital (South) in Orlando .He is still optimistic and still planning to remove the upper lobe of the right lung. He will refer her to an oncologist for follow-up and the biopsy will be done after the surgery. Based on what he can see on the CT scan, he does not think there will be a need for radiation or chemo. Of course, that can change.

She will be in ICU for about three days and in the hospital for about a week. Her going home depends on when the drain tubes can be removed. Her recovery time will be eight weeks. Those of you who have had broken ribs will be able to relate!

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She and I remain upbeat and optimistic.
