Rant - BUT I simply HATE AZERTY Keyboards. Hi all
Have been working in France for a while -- enjoy Paris a lot but one thing DRIVES ME TOTALLY BONKERS is their AZERTY keyboards -- I'll NEVER EVER get used to them.
My boss saw me struggling with 2 finger typing and taking pity on me finally dug out a QWERTY keyboard out of the stores.
(Now some of the other Non Fench people want one too!!!!).
If you aren't French using an AZERTY keyboard is the nearest thing I've found to Computer Hell on the planet.
Cheers

Hi there
great stuff--actually I COULD use one of those since with QWERTY I don't need to look at the keyboard at all while typing --so long as Windows is mapped to the correct layout it would probably be a GOOD typing tool as well.
Cheers

I thought French AZERTY keyboards could be switched to QWERTY? A couple of French people I know use AZERTY, but sometimes switch it to QWERTY by accident and end up typing in some incomprehensible way. Though I guess not all keyboards can changed between language layouts, then.
When I was in Germany a few years ago, I had to use a QWERTZ keyboard, and that was annoying enough lol.
And I think I'd manage with a blank keyboard | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS Windows 7 Professional x64 Service Pack 1 CPU Intel Core i7 920 3.2GHz Motherboard ASUS Sabertooth x58 Memory 6GB XMS3 Corsair 1333MHz Graphics Card Zotac Nvidia Geforce GTX470 Sound Card ASUS Xonar DX/XD 7.1 Monitor(s) Displays Dell 24" S2409W + Dell 20" E207WFP Screen Resolution 1920x1080 + 1680x1050 Keyboard Logitech G11 Keyboard Mouse Logitech G5 Laser Mouse (2007 edition) PSU Corsair HX850 modular Case Coolermaster 690II Advanced Nvidia Edition Cooling Corsair H60 Hard Drives 1x 120GB OCZ Vertex 2E, 1x 750GB Western Digital Caviar Black, 1x 1TB Western Digital Caviar Green Internet Speed 16Mbps Other Info LG Blu-Ray player |

I remember having to use a Dvorak Keyboard and I thought that was bad but Azerty is a whole new level of hell. I must say though, apart from a different key layout, the only other thing that annoys me to death is when I'm forced to use one of those "ergonomic" keyboards with split keys. I seriously don't understand how that could possibly be comfortable to anyone. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Intel Core i3 530 2.93 Ghz Clarkdale Motherboard ASRock P55 PRO/USB3 LGA 1156 Memory 4 GB OCZ DDR3 1600 (PC12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti with 1 GB of RAM Sound Card Realtek HD ALC892 Monitor(s) Displays 20'' eMachines E202HDbmd Glare Panel Widescreen Screen Resolution 1600 x 900 Keyboard Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Elite Mouse Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Elite PSU Rosewill Xtreme Series RX750-D-B ATX12V v2.2 & EPS12V (750W) Case Cooler Master Centurion 534 RC-534-KKN2-GP Mid-Tower Cooling Standard Case Fans and Stock CPU Heatsink Hard Drives Western Digital 1 TB Caviar Black Edition (7200 RPM) SATA
