    My grandson needs your help!!!!!

Just had a call from our son at the hospital. Things have taken a turn for the worse.
I am going there right now to be with him. Don't know the details, except the doctor is in attendance.

Please keep our grandson in your thoughts.
I will be absent for an unknown time but will give an update as soon as i can.

    Kindest regards

Thank you for the kind words and prayers, guys.

Just got back from the hospital and the baby has settled down.
My son told me the baby's heart beat took a big dive and stayed around 50 beats per minute for quite a long time. Apperently 110 to 160 is the "safe" area. I believe it was caused by the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck.
I thought the doctor was there, but did not arrive for 1.5 hrs after i got there.
The water has broken, dialation has started and he excpects a delivery around 6 hrs from now. Epidural and pain killers for mum has settled her down and, touch wood, so has our grandson.

Thoughts and prayers can be a powerful thing. Our thanks again.

Will keep you updated as news comes to hand.

    Regards

    Jon & Sally

I have heard of the baby's heart doing that sort of thing before. Let's hope that the rest of the delivery goes well.

Thank you good sir. Tried to translate, and believe it is something along the lines of "may God be with you, my friend". My wife is half irish but knows no Gaelic.
Her mum is from Drogheda, but lives too far away to ask.

Here's wishing your family all the best, giving birth is stressful enough without having problems so lets hope everything continues to go according to plan, they're tough little b*****s babies you know.:)

Thanks for the kind wishes Joan. Had a phone call a short while ago from our son.
Decision was made by the doctor to go with a C-section. Initially they did not want Scott to be with his wife at this time, however since it was going to be a spinal block, his determanation came through and he is presently with his wife and child in the operating room.

I would think our grandson is either in his mother's or father's arms right now (thinking positive) as Kelly, daughter in law, went in a bit over an hour ago. :)

If he is like his father and grandfather, any tougher, he'd rust.
