    Deleting forum message

How do you do this? I see that there's an edit/delete button for one's messages, but when I click on that and bring up the editing view, there is no option I can see to delete a message.

Along these lines, shouldn't there be a forum area for forum-related how-to issues? I wasn't sure where to post this message, and I could find no forum help--amid the wonderful and plentiful Windows 7 help.

    Welcome Arthur,

Did you happen to notice this?
    Windows 7 Forums - FAQ

    From the above FAQ
How do I work with Private Message Folders?
By default, you will have two folders in your private message area. These are the 'Inbox' and the 'Sent' Items folders.
The 'Inbox' folder contains any new messages you receive. It allows you to view all the messages you have received, along with the name of the person who sent it, and the date and time it was sent.
The 'Sent Items' folder contains a copy of any messages that you have sent, where you have specified that you wish to keep a copy for future reference.
You can create additional folders for your messages by clicking the 'Edit Folders' link.

Each folder has a set of message controls which allow you to select messages, then either move them to one of your custom folders, or delete them. Once you have selected your messages, you can choose the following options in the 'Selected Messages' box at the bottom of the list:
    • Move to Folder
    • Delete
    • Mark as Read
    • Mark as Unread
    • Download as XML
    • Download as CSV
    • Download as TEXT
You will need to periodically delete old messages, as the administrator has probably set a limit to the number of private messages you can have in your folders. If you exceed this number, you will not be able to send or receive new messages until you delete some old ones.

For visitor messages, you check the upper right hand corner of the message, at the end of the messages, you see delete, just click on that. It will bring you to the confirmation page, where you confirm the soft delete.

For actual posts, which is what I think you are referring to, you click on edit, then delete. You must make sure that the delete box is checked, in the lower left corner, then delete again.

If you do have forum questions, it is perfectly acceptable to post in the manner that you have. You will be offered help from other experienced members.

OK, I see the FAQ at the bottom of the page (he said sheepishly).

I'll have to take some time and look more closely at the tutorials. I'm not talking about private messages, though. I posted a forum message about an endless loop I was experiencing on trying to read mail, but I solved the problem (AVG issue, not WLM). I wanted to delete that forum message.

    Thanks for the info.

I have been adding to my post and saving, to ensure all would not be lost. Read it again. I have added a section about the forum posts, which is what I think you are actually referring to.

On the upper right corner of the post, you will see a triangle. You click on that and type solved. This should be done with all questions that have been answered.
Any other questions, I will put you on my friends list, so that you may ask.

Richard, I'm clicking on a message's edit button (next to "Quote" and "Multi"), but I see no delete choice. What did I miss? Thanks.
