    This is one of the cutest emails I have received in a while!

    An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard.
    I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had

    a home and was well taken care of.

    He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head;
    he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the
    hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.

    An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out..

    The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard,

    walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall

    and again slept for about an hour.

    This continued off and on for several weeks.

    Curious I pinned a note to his collar:

    'I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is

    and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon

    your dog comes to my house for a nap.'

    The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar:

    'He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 -

    he's trying to catch up on his sleep.

    Can I come with him tomorrow?'

    I NEED HELP!!!!

    So, for my Web1 class, we're doing some very basic stuff...

    but this one thing is kicking my butt...

    View the code below

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

    <title>Designing Effective Web Sites by Benjamin Hall</title>
    </head>

    <body>

    <h1 align="center"><img src="target1.jpg" alt="Target" />Designing Effective Web Sites</h1><br>

    <p>When working on design of a web site, consider the following questions...</p>

    <ol>
    <li>What are the <strong>objectives</strong> of the web site?</li>
    <li><strong>Who</strong> are the visitors you wish to attract?</li>
    <li>How will visitors <strong>find and enter</strong> your web site?</li>
    <li>What will cause visitors to <strong>stay and navigate</strong>?</li>
    <li>How do you get them to <strong>revisit</strong>?</li>
    </ol>

    <p><img src="key3.jpg" alt="Key" /> It's relatively easy to <strong><em>architect</em></strong> web sites, but it's difficult to do it well!</p>
    <hr size=3 align="center" />

    <h3>What is Web Site Architecture?</h3>

    <ul>
    <li>"The application of <strong>organization, navigation,
    labeling,</strong> and <strong>indexing</strong> systems to support both browsing and
    searching for large, complex Web sites and intranets."</li>
    <li>About web <strong>sites</strong>, not web pages</li>
    <li>Information architecture with many different perspectives
    <em>(graphic design, usability engineering, technical design, etc...)</em></li>
    </ul>

    <h3>Why is it valuable?</h3>

    <ul>
    <li>Quickly gives visitor an idea of what the site is about</li>
    <li>Increases speed and ease of finding information</li>
    <li>Easy to find "known items" visitor is looking for</li>
    <li>Supports mission and goals of the Web site</li>
    </ul>

    <h3>Architect away...</h3>
    <hr size=3 align="center"/>

    This is the assignment I am doing. It is finished, EXCEPT.. the horizontal rule lines
    i.e.
    Code:
    <hr />
    are supposed to have margins on either side, but I can't get it to work... any help please?
