    What's It Worth?

I'm upgrading my build from two years ago, I posted it on Craigslist thinking I might just build a new computer but I decided to just upgrade it. I forgot to take down the post and got this e-mail:

"Dude...you are on crack if you expect anything more than $600 for that system. In selling computers, you will never get back all the money you put into it. Its just a fact."

    Here's the specs:

    Case: Thermaltake M9 VI1000BWS Mid-Tower

(Plus a 12" cold cathode neon light)

    CPU: (Quad-Core) Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 @ 3.00GHz 1333FSB 12MB L2 Cache 64-bit

CD: LG 20X DVD R/RW + CD-R/RW Drive Dual Layer

    CD2: 16X DVD Rom

FlashMedia: Internal 12in1 Flash Media Reader/Writer

    Fan: Thermaltake V1 CPU Cooler

    HDD: Raid-0 10,000 RPM 2 WD Velociraptor's

Motherboard:Asus Striker II Formula nForce 780i SLI Mainboard

    Memory: 8G Corsair Dominator DDR2

Network: Intel Pro gigabite 10/100/1000 Network Card

PowerSupply:1,000 Watts Power Supply Thermaltake Tough Power

Sound: Creative Labs X-FI XtremeGamer 24-Bit PCI Sound Card

Display: Silverstone eudemon sst-fp52 LCD Display

    Video: Nvidia 9800 GX2 1GB 16x PCI Express

I had it listed at 2g which is probably a bit much, but I specifically said taking offers, I just took the price of the components and cut it in half and added it up.

    I don't remember doing crack

I bet it is worth 2G to you, but if you want to sell it, don't expect more than 1G. It's like a car, when you drive it off the dealers lot, you lost 30%.

Yeah, I figured . But 600 seems like its a little too low. I dono, maybe its just me? I'm taking the components out anyways so I'm not trying to sell it, I was just curious what offers I would get for it.

I'll probably just use the left over components for a cheaper build for my dad or something as a gift. Granite I don't think he'll be a fan of the blue neon but we'll see

LoL he just thought it was bright and doesn't see the point I guess, I should just paint the case gold or something then give it to him.

I have the graphics card listed seperately and the last offer I got was 120 and I sent him a link with the specs and he then began cursing at me, have yet to understand it. I just got another one for $40. Its worth like 140ish?

    "Hi,

Don't get mad at me, but my offer is more out of curiosity than desire to own the once great 9800 GX2. I am a Folder and the GX2 gets around 10,000 points per day, but the new GTX460 gets up to 14,000 with OC'ing and use less electricity to boot. When I'm done playing with it, it is my intention to sell it to someone who wants to Fold with it. My offer: $40. The GTX460/768MB is now available for $150 after MIR. That price may go lower with the introduction of the HD67xx in a couple of weeks."

That is the whole thing, if anyone can decipher it I'll give them a cookie

I put my EVGA 9800 GX2 on Craigslist for 100$ since I want to get either the new GTX 520 when its out of a 400 series. Is 100$ a fair price for this card? I've seen a range from 40$ to 552$ so I dono for sure. Either way I have two people who want me to call them.'

    Help is always appreciated!
