windows 8 ? Take over on windows 7 ? So whats the big rumour then been researching lately on the "windows 8" so its supposed to be simpler, great looking and easy to use ? who agrees from the videos and the pictures ? personally i think windows 7 is the best OS out there im currently in college working on MACS one of the best OS out there but still i think nothing over powers the windows 7 simple and easy for anyone to use i dont think windows 8 will be a huge takeover unless they make some big changes ! Maybe if they had a stripper on the taskbar just maybe haha ! but no seriously who thinks windows 8 will be the big takeover on windows 7 ?

Um, Windows 8 is going to be the most EPIC OS yet. They're doing away with 32-bit and making it 64-bit minimum, with an optional 128-bit version for the hardcore geeks with deep pockets. (Okay, I'm a hardcore geek but I don't have deep pockets.)
Windows 8 will be the end of the regular Windows as we know it, and will be the birth of a new era.

I don't think there is going to be 128 bit support in Windows8. We don't even have a consumer 128bit CPU even being discussed. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD

A contact of mine is currently testing out a 128-bit processor. He's saying Windows 8 will be strictly 64-bit, but there is talk that there may be 128-bit support, pending how soon the 128-bit processor can hit the public markets. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion dv4i-2100 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x86 CPU Intel Core i3 M350 @ 2.27 GHz Motherboard Stock Memory 3.00 GB Graphics Card Intel 1GB HDMI Graphics Card Sound Card Stock Monitor(s) Displays 14.6" HD Screen Resolution 1200x800 current setting. I 'can' see them making Windows 9 64-bit only with 128-bit support. Not Windows 8 though. We have just started to enter 64-bit prodominately. 64-bit is slowly taking over but by the time Windows 9 is out, Microsoft would be able to release it as 64-bit only (no 32-bit) without the worry of loss of Market Share/Money.
I'm sorry but I'm inclined not to believe you about the 'contact' of yours. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom | Whitebox OS Windows 7 Ultimate, OS X 10.7, Ubuntu 11.04 CPU Intel E6750 @ 3.80GHz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3L (Revision 1.1) Memory 2x2GB & 2x1GB (6GB) OCZ Reaper 1066MHz @ 1080MHz Graphics Card EVGA nVidia GTX 260 896mb (216 Core) FTW Edition Sound Card Realtek ALC888 Monitor(s) Displays 21" VIZIO TV Screen Resolution 1680x1050 @ 60Hz Keyboard Logitech Wireless S520 Mouse Logitech Wireless S520 - Microsoft Wireless Arc Mouse PSU Corsair 750W Case NZXT Nemesis Elite Cooling Thermaltake SpinQ Hard Drives Western Digital WD6401AALS - 640GB

I'm not sure... that's just what I was told. I was not backing up the validity of his statements.
But I do see 32-bit starting to slide away as 64-bit is coming in pretty quickly.
But perhaps he's wrong.
I'm not sure. Honestly, I almost hope he's wrong since I prefer the ease of 32-bit.
But again, I'm not sure. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion dv4i-2100 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x86 CPU Intel Core i3 M350 @ 2.27 GHz Motherboard Stock Memory 3.00 GB Graphics Card Intel 1GB HDMI Graphics Card Sound Card Stock Monitor(s) Displays 14.6" HD Screen Resolution 1200x800 current setting. I'm afraid I'd have to agree with with DarkNova on this one as x64 has only just really began to sink in and it's my guess that the x86 version will also be a feature of windows 8 with the x64 really coming to the fore in that.
Then the next iteration will support 128 with x86 totally ceased.
