"Fanboism" - What exactly does that mean?

In the "What Graphics Card" sticky, it says that "fanboism" will not be tolerated. I'd like to know what is being defined as such. Some people would define it as sticking with one side regardless. However, since I have very little experience with Nvidia GPUs, I am way more apt to suggest some ATI model. However, disallowing one to only dispense advice on one brand seems totally against common sense to me. Is it really trying to say not to hate/troll someone for having a differing opinion on which is better?

Example: There are some Mac "fanboyz" who thinks Mac are superior than Windows 7 in all the terms. But everyone knows the truth.

    Hope this helps.

       Warning
Its just an example though, dont take it otherwise.

It depends on how a post is phrased, as to if it is considered Fanboism.

A post that contains "in My Opinion..." or "in my experience ..." or "only having used ..." would be unlikely to be frowned upon, whereas an answer to the question "what nvidia card is best for ....." with "they're all Cr@p you need an Intel ...", would be.

Also posting in a thread about issues with a particular piece of hardware or software with an off topic recommendation to change to your own particular favourite, would not be welcome.

    From www.urbandictionary.com:

    Fanboi

    - Deliberate mispelling of the word 'fanboy' typically referring to an annoying, immature fan of a specific video game console.

fanbois typically spend most of their free time telling anyone who will listen how perfect thier console of choice is, and how inferior all other products are. fanbois will not stop annoying other people until everyone they know is converted to their way of thinking.
neutral observer: "Console X looks to have a strong line up this year, but console Y still has the momentum from last year"
fanboi: "NO STFU CONSOLE Z IS THE BEST EVER. UR ALL IDIOTS, GO WASTE MORE MONEY ON YOUR SHIT CONSOLE X AND Y LOL"

I am glad someone reads my posts

Basically, it is an irrational and (most importantly) annoying favouritism of one thing over another.

Such as believing that Windows is better at everything than Macs, because Macs can't do anything like play games or use the "real" office, etc.
Or saying that PS3 is so much better than XBox because Sony owns it, and the controllers are shaped better and the games are better and anyone that uses anything else is an absolute dumbass, etc.

Poor examples, but I don't know if I could bear to type out a good one.
